A few weeks back, Yabonga (a non-governmental organisation which supports women, men and children who are infected or directly affected by HIV/Aids) approached me to take some portraits of some of their community mothers in various townships around Cape Town, for a fundraising event in The Netherlands in a few weeks time. I spent a few hours in Khayaletsha, Phillipi and Samora Michelle, briefly visiting some of these women who open up their homes to their communities.

Everytime I go into these areas, I am left feeling humbled at the vibrance, enthusiasm and resourcefulness of the people who live there.

I can't believe we were in Bali over a year ago already - I completely fell in love with this quirky little island for it's grungy beauty, gracious people and laidback vibe.

This is why Ireland is one of the greenest countries in the world...

On a recent trip to the Overberg we stopped to take a stroll through the missionary town of Elim - it completely feels like a different century and time.

I took some photos on my trip to Cuba last year which have been nominated for some awards in the Sony Profoto Awards. You can go on and vote for your favourite images, there are some awesome ones there!

On a seperate note, I've been looking through my millions of folders on my photography drive and there are so many cool images that don't get printed, that don't really get seen by anyone else but me. I'm hesitant in saying I'm going to post an image a day... but I'm going to try and share more random images from my travels and life in general on this blog - if I can manage an image a day I'll be well impressed but check back more often for hopefully a bit of inspiration!
