Our New Business Has Launched! |
| Monica Dart and I have gone into partnership and started a new business (completely separate from our independent photography businesses) called TOURIST PHOTOGRAPHERS.
We have worked for months on this exciting venture and are proud to announce it’s official launch today!
How it works…
In a nutshell…..tourists visit our beautiful country, and we send a professional photographer out with them for either half a day, a day…or even a few days, to photograph their holiday anywhere in and around South Africa and some parts of Africa. It means they get to enjoy their holiday and leave our country with a creative set of professional images. No more being on holiday and not being in any of the shots because they’re behind the lens. At the end of the shoot, the images get collected and edited and delivered within 1-4 days to our clients.
Please visit our new website where you can read all about our exciting business. Please feel free to direct friends and family that are visiting South Africa, to our new site.
Thank you to Marie Beetge of Pepperplane design for our funky logo and icons throughout the site.

A few weeks back, Yabonga (a non-governmental organisation which supports women, men and children who are infected or directly affected by HIV/Aids) approached me to take some portraits of some of their community mothers in various townships around Cape Town, for a fundraising event in The Netherlands in a few weeks time. I spent a few hours in Khayaletsha, Phillipi and Samora Michelle, briefly visiting some of these women who open up their homes to their communities.
Everytime I go into these areas, I am left feeling humbled at the vibrance, enthusiasm and resourcefulness of the people who live there.

I can't believe we were in Bali over a year ago already - I completely fell in love with this quirky little island for it's grungy beauty, gracious people and laidback vibe.

On a recent trip to the Overberg we stopped to take a stroll through the missionary town of Elim - it completely feels like a different century and time.

I took some photos on my trip to Cuba last year which have been nominated for some awards in the Sony Profoto Awards. You can go on and vote for your favourite images, there are some awesome ones there!
On a seperate note, I've been looking through my millions of folders on my photography drive and there are so many cool images that don't get printed, that don't really get seen by anyone else but me. I'm hesitant in saying I'm going to post an image a day... but I'm going to try and share more random images from my travels and life in general on this blog - if I can manage an image a day I'll be well impressed but check back more often for hopefully a bit of inspiration!
Anyway, these are the images nominated!
